About Reversi

Reversi is free in your browser, made by KepoGames. The board has 8 by 8 squares and starts with four discs in the middle. On your turn, place a disc so that it closes in a straight line of the other side's discs, across, down or diagonally, between your new disc and one you already have. Every disc in that line flips to your side. If you have no move, you pass. When neither side can move, the one with more discs wins. You play as Kepo against nine of his friends, one for each level: Pip, at level 1, often plays any square, so a beginner can win, and Grandpa Glob, at level 9, looks far ahead and counts the last moves exactly. Choose 2 players to play a friend on the same device.

Pick your discs: with Kepo discs, every disc is a round head, Kepo's for you and your friend's for them, and a flipped disc turns into the other head. Classic discs are black and white on a green board. The squares you can play show a small dot, Undo takes back a move, Hint shows a good square, and a game in progress is saved so you can finish it later.

Tips

  • Corners can never be flipped back, so take them when you can.
  • Be careful with the squares right next to an empty corner: playing there often hands the corner to the other side.
  • Flipping lots of discs early is not always good. Keeping more moves open than the other side usually matters more.
  • Edges are strong too, but watch that a disc on the edge can't be closed in from both ends.
