About Kepo Sea Battle

Kepo Sea Battle is the classic naval battle game against Kepo. Each of you hides a fleet of five boats on a 10x10 sea: one 5 squares long, one 4, two 3s and one 2. Boats can't touch, not even at the corners. Then you take turns firing at a square of the other's sea. A hit bursts, a miss splashes, and a boat sinks when every square of it has been hit. Sink Kepo's whole fleet before he sinks yours.

Your fleet starts in a random spread: shuffle it, drag a boat to move it, or tap a boat to turn it. When a boat sinks, the water around it is marked, since no boat can be there. Kepo aims on three levels: Easy fires loosely but finishes off any boat it hits, Medium hunts on a checkerboard and follows a line of hits, and Hard aims where boats are most likely to be. Your wins and your fewest-shots win are kept for each level.

Tips

• Search on a checkerboard: every boat covers at least one dark square, so you can skip half the sea while hunting.
• After a hit, try the squares next to it; after two hits in a row, keep going along that line.
• Once only bigger boats are left, you can search with wider gaps.
• Spread your boats out and use the edges: a fleet bunched in the middle is easier for Kepo to find.
