About Kepo Hearts

Kepo Hearts is the classic Hearts card game for four players, played with the Kepo deck. You are Kepo, and Pip, Mochi and Puff fill the other seats. Each round starts with passing three cards (left, right, across, then no pass). The 2 of clubs leads the first trick, everyone must follow suit if they can, and the highest card of the suit led wins the trick. Hearts can't be led until one has been played, and no points can be played on the first trick.

Every heart you take is 1 point and the Queen of Spades is 13, so the aim is to take as few as you can. Take every heart and the Queen in one round, though, and you shoot the moon: you score nothing and everyone else gets 26. The game ends when someone reaches 100 points, and the lowest score wins. Cards you can't play are dimmed, Hint suggests a card (or the three to pass), and a game in progress is saved between rounds.

Tips

Pass the Queen of Spades, and the King and Ace of spades, unless you hold plenty of low spades to protect them.
Empty a short suit when you pass: once you're out of a suit, you can dump hearts and high cards on those tricks.
Play the highest card that still loses the trick, and save your low cards for later.
If you see one player taking all the hearts, keep one heart for yourself to stop them shooting the moon.
