About Line Up

Line Up is the classic lines game, free in your browser, played with Kepo and his friends. The board is 9 by 9 squares. Tap a friend, then an empty square: it hops there, but only if there is a free path around the others. Line up five of the same friend in a row, a column or a diagonal and they pop off the board for points. Every move that doesn't make a line brings three new friends in, so the board slowly fills up. The game ends when there is no room left.

The three friends coming next sit small on the squares where they will land, so you can plan around them. A line of five is worth 10 points, six 24 and seven 42, so longer lines pay much more. Play Relaxed with 6 kinds of friends or Classic with 7. You get one undo per move, your game is saved after every move, and the best score is kept for each choice.

Tips

Keep the middle of the board open. A friend stuck in a corner behind others can't get anywhere.
Look at the three small friends coming next: don't build your line where they are about to land, or use them to finish one.
Build two lines of the same friend side by side, so one move can finish either.
Clearing a line means no new friends come in that turn, so finishing lines is also how you buy room.
